Hemo+Moofire

HEMO + MOOFIRE are not only big in Japan – the two cool gyals from Tokyo are among the finest producers of Dancehall and Soca, immensely popular DJs, organisers of wild parties, owners of a thriving record label and their own hot venue – Club Cactus in Nogizaka/Tokyo.

Since they officially started working together in 2001, after already gaining experience in the music scene for a couple of years, they achieved more than any other female sound in the field of Caribbean music. They cooperated with big names from Jamaica as well as local heroes and performed in front of audiences of several thousand people at the Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago, parties in Jamaica and festivals in Japan and have a regular show on the radio.
The first riddim Hemo and Moofire released on their own label Bacchanal 45 records was the enormously successful “Escape Riddim”, followed by the “Soca Escape Riddim”. Blending Soca and Dancehall together these riddims sold more than 50 000 copies.

Following this huge hit they signed contracts with the major label Warner Music and introduced Soca to Japan on a broader basis with their compilation album “Soca Soca Soca”.
We are proud to announce that Hemo & Moofire signed contract with Faluma Digital for the digital release of their music – starting with the “Soca Escape Riddim” and the “Escape Riddim”- to make it available in a wide array of mp3 shops all over the web.

The “S-Latino Riddim”, a brandnew 2008 production again with popular Japanese as well as famous Caribbean artists like Bunji Garlin and Mr. Slaughter will also be available soon. So far it was only released on 7″ vinyls and will be brought to you still fresh, hot and sizzling end of November, together with the single “Yosakoi Forever”, sung by Romie, produced by Hemo + Moofire, with a lovely steel pan arrangement.
