This weekend is Carnival weekend in Berlin! For all of you who still don’t know it: yes, we have a Carnival in Berlin! With trucks, soca, fetes, mas, beautiful ladies, rum and bacchanal! And you shouldn’t miss it!
The Carnival marathon starts tonight with the “Carnival Jump Up” fete at the club Icon with David Rodigan, Problem Child and the Soca Twins. Also tonight starts the “Caribbean Invasion” at the beachbar / club Yaam, a three day event that’s climax will be the sunday night concert with a international line up of big names such as KMC, Problem Child, Ricky Trooper, Wyclef’s Refugee All-Star Sound (Fugees), LP International und Gramigna.
On saturday afternoon you are very welcome to meet us at the traditional Soca BBQ, this time on the courtyard in front of the Festsaal Kreuzberg, the venue which will host the legendary Carnival Glow fete on saturday night!
The infamous Skinny Faboulus and Faluma artist Scrappy will make you all “start to bounce!” Beside the live artists there will be all your favourite Soca sounds and DJs: DJ Tate (UK), Soca Revolution (SE), Jam Masters (NL) plus the local Soca-heroes: Barney Millah, Mashup Crew, Soca Twins and Threeks…This is definitely a party you shouldn’t miss and don’t forget to wear WHITE!
Sunday is the big day on de road: trucks and masqueraders, watch out for truck #97, the last truck of the parade with the Carnival Explosion mas band and their very pink motto: Fantastic Flamingos!
