Downtown Port of Spain was ruled by one artist on Carnival Tuesday: Machel Montano. Either was it “Like Ah Boss”, “Erupt” or “Party Done (with Angela Hunte). First song played at the main stage was Machel Montano’s “Like Ah Boss” when the first mas band – Harts – crossed the stage. Most spectators see “Boss” in the lead but we have to wait for the official results.
Surprising premiere for Angela Hunte and her first carnival release: She co-wrote “Party Done” and accompanied Machel on the vocals.
1. Like A Boss (390 plays) – Machel Montano
2. Erupt (37 plays) – Machel Montano
3. Ola(22 plays) – Olatunji Yearwood
Machel has numerous Roadmarch titels on his belt:
It started with “Big Truck” (1997), then later “Band of the Year” (with Patrice Roberts 2006), Jumbie (2007), “Advantage” (2011), “Pump Yuh Flag” (2012) and finally last year “MOR, Ministry of the Road” (2014).
