Almost every country in the Caribbean has it’s own Carnival or even Carnival related event. Old Carnivals like in Trinidad, which is also the biggest in the Caribbean, root back to the days of Slavery and the Emancipation Day, mixing with European Carnival traditions. Other Carnivals have been installed later which is one of the reasons that there are festivals almost throughout the whole year.

Hi,
Please add Jersey City Carnival to your list…….it takes place the last weekend of July right before Caribana, Toronto. It’s 18 years old and has a 3 mile long parade which culminates in a huge street festival on the beautiful Exchange Place waterfront in downtown Jersey City.
Added, thanks!
Hi,
Might be pointless to ask but do you know if there are any carnival activities in the Caribbean in February 2014Since Lent is late that year all Carnivals are in March…there’s Grenada and St Lucia Independence Day but from researching on google it’s more like a military parade.
Thank you so much!
Please add Phoenix Arizona to your list as well. Just had a 3 day Caribbean Carnival this past weekend May 23-25, 2014. Thanks
